اهدای کتاب عزرا به رهبر دينی يهوديان جهان “هاراو اسحق یوسف” با هدف ترویج صلح و احترام
بنام خداوند يكتا كه اين جهان را به علم و اختيار و قدرت خويش خلق نموده و شريك و انباز و نماينده و جانشينی ندارد. خداوندی كه هر قومی به نامی او را میشناسند و میخوانند.
قریب به بیست سال پیش، در پی شکلگیری آتش تنشهای صلحستیز در منطقهی خاورمیانه، این کمترین لازم دیدم تا با استفاده از هنر سنتی ايران، و به وسیلهی خلق آثار هنری نمادين با خوشنويسی و تذهيب كتب مقدس اديان ابراهيمی، عملا به منظور ترويج همزيستی مسالمتآميز و احترام متقابل ميان پيروان اديان گوناگون، و تاكيد بر پرهيز از تعصبات كور و جنگهای مذهبی، و نیز ارج نهادن به كرامت ذاتی انسان اقدام نمایم. زيرا آنچه در طی بيش از چهل سال فراگيری فقه و معارف اسلامی؛ و سی سال تحقيق و فراگيری آموزهها و الهيات اديان ابراهيمی آموختم، مرا به اين نتيجه رساند كه تمامی اديان با وجود مناسك و زبانهای عبادی مختلف؛ هدف مشترك و واحدی را پی میگيرند؛ و آن دعوت به یکتاپرستی همراه با فرارفتن از خودپرستیها، و توجه دادن بشر به انسانيت ذاتی خويش و تاكيد بر نوع دوستی و پرهيز از تعدی و تجاوز به حقوق همنوعانش است.
ثمرهء اين بيست سال كه با همياری و همكاری دوست ارجمند و هنرمند ارزشمند جناب آقای مهدی بهمن همراه بود؛ خلق آثار نمادين متعددی شد كه هر يك به نوبه خود دارای ارزش معنوی خاصی است كه هر كدام به مناسبتی اهداء گرديده است؛ از آن ميان كتاب زبور حضرت داوود(ع) میباشد كه به منظور همدردی و دلجویی از بازماندگان قربانيان حملات انتحاری يازدهم سپتامبر به عنوان نمادی از صلحجویی و نوعدوستی ايرانيان و احترام به ديگر اديان و مذاهب به كتابخانه كنگرهی امريكا اهداء گرديد كه هماينك ذيل شماره 2007332311 در آن مركز نگهداری میگردد.
اينك نيز این کمترین بار دیگر بر برابری در حقوق و همسانی در منزلت انسانی تمامی ادیان و پیروان کوشای ایشان تأکید مینمایم؛ و با عنايت به توفيقات حضرت احديت كه بواسطهی مطالعهی عاری ازسوءنگرش و تعصب در کتب ادیان، بخصوص کتب فرق اسلامی، کتب مقدس یهودیان و مسیحیان نصیب این کمترین گشت، آنچه را تاكنون بر خود فرض میدانستم و توانش را داشتهام انجام داده واین چنین به پایان میرسانم.
در همین راستا کتاب «عزرای كاهن»، كه سندی تاريخی و گويا در روابط حسنه میان ايرانيان و يهوديان است و دربردارندهی فرمان كوروش بزرگ مبنی بر آزادی اديان و برپایی بيت هميقداش دوم میباشد؛ و خوشنويسی و تذهيب آن در سال 1391 به پايان رسيد، به رهبر دينی يهوديان جهان “هاراو اسحق يوسف” در اروشليم، به نمايندگی از تمامی همانديشان ايرانیام كه خواستار دوستی و روابط صلحآميز بر اساس احترام متقابل و به دور از هرگونه تنش و خصومت با تمامی كشورها می باشند؛ تقديم و تحويل گرديد.این تقدیمی با خود پیامی کوتاه اما هماره زنده از صلح، دوستی و همزيستی مسالمتآميز را به ارمغان دارد؛ کوتاه است چراکه حکمت الهی در کلمهای جای میگیرد، و جاویدان است چرا که خردمندی ذاتی دین از هزارههای دور تا امروز حامل آن بوده و امروز نیز تداوم خواهد یافت تا به دست آیندگان برسد.
قطعا اين اقدام مانند بعضی از فعاليتهای بنده مورد پسند برخی از نگرشهای سياسی در داخل ايران نبوده و بخاطر ضديت و يا دشمنی با كشور و دولت اسرائيل اين اقدام را در راستای اهداف سياسی خاصی معرفی میكنند؛ كه لازم میدانم عرض كنم: اينجانب هيچگاه فعال يا منتقد سياسی نبوده و نيستم؛ و اگر بنا باشد رفتار و عملكرد حكومت و دولتمردان اسرائيل يا هر كشور ديگری را نقد كرده و به چالش بكشم؛ اولیتر آن است كه عملكرد و رفتار حكومت و دولتمردان كشور خود را نقد كرده و به چالش بكشم، زيرا منافع ملی ميهنم؛ و رفاه و امنيت اجتماعی، و حقوق شهروندی هموطنانم میبايست در اولويت قرار داده شود. متاسفانه برخی دچار دشمنیهایی شدهاند كه نسل اندر نسل به ارث بردهاند كه حتی دليل آن را نمیدانند.
اكنون زمانی است که ما نیاز داریم دست به جهادی عقلانی در برابر نگرشهای خود بزنیم. پیوند انسانی ما مردمان این کرهی خاکی در اولویت قرار دارد؛چرا که آموزههای جهانشمول هریک از ادیان جهان -بخصوص ادیان ابراهیمی و فرقتابعه- میبايست پاسدار ارزشهای متعالی مدنیت؛ آزاديهای فردی و اجتماعی، برقراری و حفظ روابط حسنه، همدلانه، و مهرورزانه با یکایک نوع بشر باشد. اینک پس از بررسی تجربهی قرنها خصومت و جدالهای بیحاصل ميان پيروان اديان مختلف؛ اینجانب از طرف نگرشهای خردگرا وانسانمدار اسلامی و در پاسداشت پیوندهای نیک انسانی و التزام عملی به کرامت ذاتی انسان، به سهم خویش عمل کردهام.
در اينجا لازم میدانم تا از دو سال تلاش بیوقفه دوست ارزشمندم جناب آقای احمد رأفت كه برای رساندن كتاب عزرای كاهن به مقصدش زحمات بسياری را متحمل گرديد؛ كمال تشكر و سپاس را بنمايم و از خداوند متعال برای ايشان و خانواده محترمشان سلامتی و موفقيت در تمامی مراحل زندگی را مسئلت نمايم.
خداوندا؛ حمد و ستايشات میكنيم كه اجازه و توفيق عنايت فرمودی تا كتب مقدس تورات؛ زبور، انجيل و عزرا به دست اين بنده كوچك خوشنويسی و توسط همراه گراميم آقای مهدی بهمن تذهيب گردد تا با زبان هنر بذر محبت، دوستی ، صلح و همزيستی مسالمتآميز را ميان همهی ابناء بشر بيفشانيم. باشد كه با لطف و مرحمتت اين بذر در آيندهای نزديك به ثمر برسد.

In the name of the one true God, Who created this world through His knowledge, will, and power, Who has no associate or partner, no representative or successor, and Who is referred to by different Names throughout the world
Nearly twenty years ago, following the rise of flames of rancor that defied peace in the Middle East, I found it necessary to promote a peaceful coexistence through the medium of art. Therefore, through calligraphy and gilding excerpts/portions/passages from the Holy Books of the Abrahamic religions, I intended to call to attention the importance of mutual respect between all religions, emphasizing the significance of renouncing prejudice and religious intolerance, as well as exalting the nobility of man
After forty years of studying Islamic jurisprudence and thirty years of researching theological concepts within other Abrahamic religions, I concluded that despite the differences in their costumes and rites, all these religions share the same goals and objectives: to invite people to worship one God; to renounce self and ego; and place an emphasis on loving mankind and abstaining from the infringement on other people’s rights
Twenty years of collaboration and cooperation with my dear friend Mr. Mahdi Bahman, resulted in artwork that bears a spiritual significance. These works have been offered up as gifts (to others) on various occasions. One of these works is the Prophet David’s Holy Book, the Psalms (Sefer Tehillim), which, in honor of the victims of the September 11 attacks, was presented to the Library of Congress under the Library of Congress Control Number (LCCN) 2007332311 as a symbolic expression of grief and condolence, as well as a declaration of the Iranian nation’s respect for other religions
I would like to emphasize the principle of the equality of all humans—both in terms of rights and character—a principle with which many different religions are imbued. I have reached this conclusion (and my work is a testimony to this claim) as a result of a thorough, unbiased study of the scholarly books of different Islamic denominations as well as the Holy Books of Judaism and Christianity
In this same regard, and on behalf of my fellow Iranian thinkers, the Book of Ezra has been calligraphed and gilded–a historical do*****ent narrating the amicable relations between Iranians and Jews, and which contains the Decree of Cyrus the Great. After its completion in 2012, on behalf of my like-minded countrymen who are asking for peaceful coexistence with all countries of the world, it was delivered to Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, the Jewish religious leader in Jerusalem. This gift contains a short, yet enduring message of peace, friendship, and harmonious coexistence—short, because of the Divine Knowledge contained within each word, and enduring, because of the inherent wisdom passed down through thousands of years of religious history, enduring for years into the future
Just as with other efforts I have made, the domestic political view of my project is that it is unacceptable and that because of the opposition or animosity with the country of Israel and its government, it must, therefore, be looked at with suspicion and concern. I feel that it is necessary for me to declare that I have never been a political activist; hence, criticism of Israel and its politicians and statesmen is of no interest to me. If I were a political person, my priority should have been focusing on and challenging my own government and statemen, and giving precedence to national interests of my own country as well as the prosperity, security, and civil liberties of my fellow countrymen
It is time for us to begin/launch an intellectual Jihad to conquer our mindset. The urgent priority of our time is the bond that exists between the peoples of the earth. The universal teachings of the world’s religions, particularly those of the Abrahamic faiths, must protect the social values of all, protect individual and social liberties, establish and shield goodwill and harmony, and promote love for all mankind. After spending many years studying centuries of pointless battles among the followers of different religions, I am now making an attempt to conserve the inherent values of the human race, as part of a larger struggle taken on by today’s rational and balanced Islamic minds
In closing, I would like to convey my deepest gratitude to my dear friend Ahmad Ra’fat for his untiring efforts in delivering the “Book of Ezra” to its destination. I entreat God’s favor for him and his family
O God, praise be unto Thee for the confirmations received by Mr. Mahdi Bahman and myself, in our efforts to calligraph and gild the Books of the Torah, the Psalms, the Gospel, and Ezra, so that through the language of art, the seeds of love, friendship, and coexistence may be scattered
